My primary focus lately has been on handling huge amounts of data using Map Reduce and NoSQL storage systems like HBase, S3, SimpleDB and MongoDB. I have contributed patches to Hadoop and HBase. I have experience with statistical methods for natural language processing and machine learning.
I have primarily used Java, but if starting a new project built on top of the Hadoop stack I would lean towards Scala or Clojure. On the front end side, my experience is in Ruby on Rails.
You are a small team working on the first iteration or a young but growing company trying to scale out from your initial success. The founders are still there and management has had a previous successful exit. You have an innovative idea for a product targeting an under-served market. You have a top-notch engineering team who would each be the star of the show at other companies.
I am only interested in speaking directly with prospective employers. I have found that third party recruiters have no incentive to aggressively filter out unsuitable positions. Please do not contact me unless you are trying to fill a specific job that exactly matches my requirements.
